About

Welcome, horse enthusiasts! I’m Layla Harris, the heart and soul behind Horse Led Healing and Equine Foundational Therapy. My journey has led me to learn from some of the best in the field, and I’m committed to continuing my education. I’ve had the privilege of training many talented bodyworkers across the US, particularly in Texas and Oklahoma. While I’m not a veterinarian or chiropractor, I am a Certified Holistic Equine Bodywork Practitioner and Instructor. I will teach you many helpful modalities to facilitate your horse’s healing journey. I’m thrilled to share a unique approach I’ve developed called Equine Foundational Therapy. This method is a distillation of my most valuable learnings from online and in-person courses, books, real-life experiences as a professional bodyworker since 2014, and my time as an instructor for Holistic HorseWorks, LLC from 2018-2022. In this course, I’ll guide you on visually and physically evaluating your horse and documenting your journey with photos and thought-provoking questions. We’ll explore a variety of simple yet highly effective techniques and modalities, including: CoRegulation, Mirror Neurons, and Trust CranioSacral Therapy Myofascial Release Techniques I've fondly dubbed a muscle and nerve release technique “Twang that Thang” Lymphatic Drainage Sweeps A system rebooting technique that enhances body awareness, I call “Rock the Baby” The names are silly, but who says learning can’t be fun? We’ll also delve into your horse’s nutritional blueprint and the Remove, Replenish, Restore concept. Plus, we’ll discuss the importance of saddle fitting, dentistry, farrier or barefoot trimmer balance, and a balanced rider. As a bonus, I’ll show you how to give your horse a relaxing magnesium soak, or as I like to call it, a “Spa Day.”
